Unexpected error "536854784"

When trying to install windows xp I recieve one of these
two messages


"An unexpected error (536854784) has occured at line 1768
and D:\XPClient\Base\Boot\Setup\ARCDISP.C."

"An unexpected error (536854784) has occured at line 1768
and D:\XPSP\Base\Boot\Setup\ARCDISP.C."

If you know whats wrong, please reply. Thank you.

Are you installing clean, on a formatted disk or as an upgrade over an
existing operating system? If the former, then you probably have a
hardware problem with your RAM and/or hard drive. If the latter, back
up your data, format the disk, and install clean.
