I have been having problems with my computer repeatedly
freezing lately and sourced the problem to my hard disk.
Changed the HD for a brand new one and re-installed XP
from scratch.

But after about 15-20 minutes, just as XP was saving the
data (install almost completed) the computer crashed and I
got a blue screen !!! Tried to reboot using the CD to
complete the install but I keep getting the following
message:

"Unexpected error (536854784) at line 1768 in d:\xpsp1
\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c.

Although my old HD repeateadly had bad sectors and would
corrupt files, thus the change, I remember seeing this
message before.

What's going on ???? can someone help ???

Sorry to say, but your hardware troubles were not only with your hard
drive. Test the RAM (www.memtest86.com) for an extended period of time,
like overnight (unless you see errors right away). Test the new hard
drive with the mftr.'s utility. Test the motherboard. If you can't do
hardware testing yourself, take the machine to a good local computer
repair shop (not a Best Buy or CompUSA type of store).
