Undo delete of embedded object

I've embedded a word document into Excel 2007. Double click will
allow me to edit the text within - that's all working fine.

I accidentally deleted the object, and clicking undo has restored a
picture of the object (with all the text I typed) rather than the
original object.

Is this a fault? How can i restore the original object?

I've tried the reverse - embed Excel sheet into Word. If I delete,
then undo, it reinstates an Excel object.
