need help with odd website to excel problem

I was trying to copy some text from a website into an existing Excel 2007
workbook and somehow I coppied a cell into the workbook along with the text.
The odd thing is that I cannot select the cell for deletion. I can type into
the cell, delete all rows and colums around the cell but I can not do
anything else to the cell at all. It's almost like it is floating above the
workbook. Unfortunately I did accidentally save the document so there's no
way to undo the paste.
