Under utilised outlook contacts

I have just scratched the surface to find that outlook can be more than just
a address book. But I need help in making this happen. In my organisation
we run 8 pc's/notebooks off a server running small business server 2000. Our
business is a building company and has many different categories of people we
keep details on. I would like to create a universal contacts systeme
accessed by all that captures all data regarding leads, clients, maintenance
issues, suppliers and trades. We have problems when information isn't
captured. I believe MS Outlook could resolve this as long as everyone played
ball. Can anyone offer advice?

While, as Ben indicated, a public contacts folder is one solution available to you, capturing all the interactions you have with those contacts in a way that makes them available to everyone is not going to be something that Outlook can do by itself. Dozens of solutions are available to enhance Outlook+Exchange with better contact relationship management tools; see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contact_management.htm
