Uncontrolable standby

Im at my whits end, I have a samsung v25 laptop running xp home with sp2. For
some reason it keeps going into standy ever few minutes. This happens on both
battery and mains power. I have changed all the power options to never switch
off and never standby, but it makes no difference. I have virus checked and
the system is clear.
Any advice would be good.

Have you updated your motherboard/mainboard chipset driver ? I would
check Device Manager (w/ View -tic "Show Hidden Devices) System
Devices category and make sure no Yellow or Red entries are shown.
How is your BIOS configured for Power Management ? and finally which
Computer driver is in use ? (ACPI or Standard PC).

I would also visit the Samsung customer forums - In the case of a global
issue with a PC - someone has already likely found the problem and a
discussion/fix may already be posted.

Have you checked the BIOS settings? Maybe something in there is forcing the
standby even if you aren't doing it in Windoze?
