Cant standby

No matter what I try, I can't my computer to go into, or stay on standy. I
have the power settings set so that it should standy after 20 minutes but it
never happens. If I try to manually put the computer on standby, it comes
immediately back out. Any ideas?

Reinstall your video drivers, and reboot. (Make sure those drivers are
up-to-date and intended for XP.)

I have the same problem with my new Dell. They told me that if you use a 3D
screensaver with XP, which I had, this problem can happen. They are sending
me all new instalation disks to start over fresh and with the warning not to
use a 3D screensaver any more.
