uncompress

I have a zip file that was created using Winzip 9.1, and is password
protected. I would like to use XP/Win2003 uncompress to unzip the file, but
it tells me "File skipped unknown compression method". Is there any way to
use XP/Win 2003 to uncompress the file, or do I need to buy WinZip?
