Uncommanded Cursor Movement

S

Scott

My cursor will suddenly move to one of the four corners of the screen. The
occurrence is unpredictable and cannot be repeated. Moving the cursor in the
same manner will not cause this jump to happen again. It happens on the
desktop, IE7, Firefox, OE, and Office programs.

I noticed this behavior shortly after the March Windows Update.

My only attempt at a fix was to go to mouse properties and uncheck the "snap
to" option. It had no effect.

Does anyone have any solutions to this problem.

Thanks

Disable the touchpad.

See if the same behavior also happens in windows safemode. If your are using
the optical mouse. Use the mouse in non reflective surface preferably use an
commercially available mouse pad. Also try slowing down the mouse
sensitiveness in Control panel mouse options.

It's been doing it for YEARS on my machine - but only during the game
Solitaire.

Long ago I gave up trying to find the cause.

I discovered a bunch of lint in the optical sensor area of my mouse. Since I
cleaned it out, I haven't experienced the problem.
