Have previously had Google pop up blocker installed, but now removed.

I am still unable to view a pop up that I want to see and that I have seen
on other PCs.

Have you checked your ISP (Internet Service Provider) setup, it may be
blocking pop-ups?

With XP SP2 installed, IE has a popup blocker setting: Tools>Popup
Blocker>Turn off OR Provide settings. Here you can accept popups from
specified URLs.

Have that set at turned off

I've got a question and a suggestion. First, can you give examples of what
web sites are being blocked and what happens when you try to connect to
those sites? As for my suggestion, how about reinstalling the Google toolbar
and see if you can view the popups by overriding the Google popup blocker.
It's possible the original installation was corrupted somehow.

This is the site (the only site)

http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-...=UK&LANG=en&ART=tabelle&JJ=xxxx&SORT=2&INT=24

I want to view the large table middle left.

Have uninstalled Google toolbar and reinstalled it turning off the pop up
blocker.

Still cant see the chart. It does downlad but doesn't display.

XP pop up blocker swithced off for this site.

Had this problem since BEFORE XP SP2

Let's see if I've got this right. You click on the button for "Large map"
and then hit the go button, a new window pops up for a split second and then
closes. You click on the "Large map" button, hold down the CTRL key and then
hit the go button the same thing happens.
If you click on any of the other radio buttons (Map, Table or Contour plot)
and hit go the information displays in the middle frame. Is that what you
get? Holding down the CTRL key should work but for some reason it's not.

I'm no expert on web pages so I'll admit to being baffled as to why you
can't get that page to display properly. If you haven't already, you might
want to post your question to the appropriate newsgroup devoted to Internet
Explorer. You could also try using an alternate browser such as Firefox or
Netscape. Another thing that might be coming into play here is your java
software. Go here http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp to download the latest
version. Good luck.

Thats it exactly!

Right many thanks. Trying to download Java but taking forever

This posting was from months ago, so I don't know if anyone will see this to
help me but I'm having this similar problem now and need to know what to do.
I've been using this sweeps site for a few months without problems. They
keep a listing for you and auto-fill the forms, but some contests require you
do it and their sites popup outsite the orginal site. Now, like I said I've
been using this site for awhile. Suddenly . . . the popups don't popup, even
though I've disabled the Google toolbar block, and gone into Tools and made
that okay too . . . still I hear that "beep" indicated the block is still on.

So, I read this posting and see it's my problem and see the suggestion about
Java, which is something I gave up trying to work out problem with months ago
.. . . I go to their site to download it and I get "windows installer"
message: This installation pkg couldn't be opened. Verify that the pkg
exists & that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verigy
that this is a valid windows installer pkg.

My question: What the heck does that mean? Java page states this message:

Windows XP SP2 users: if you encounter an error, look at the top of this
page for a yellow bar that reads "This site might require the following
ActiveX control: 'Java Plug-in 1.5.0_02' from 'Sun Microsystems, Inc.'. Click
here to install..." Click the yellow bar and choose "Install ActiveX
Control..." to allow installation to proceed.

We encountered an issue while trying to automatically install Javaâ„¢ software
onto your machine. As a result, Java software was not installed properly.

I didn't get the yellow bar, etc. But I don't know if Java is the solution
to fix my popup problem, but it is a problem itself that I can't download it.

Sorry this had to be so long, but I needed to be sure the exact messages
were here while I had access to them. Anyone have any ideas or solutions?
Thanks!
