Anyone have any suggestions as to why Windows is unable to access any of my
system information? If i go to System Information in system tools it says
"Can't Collect Information, cannot access the WIndows Management
Instrumentation software. windows management files may be moved or missing."
This was a clean install on a new HD everything is running fine? I tried
going back to the CD and choosing the add remove windows componets and making
sure that the windows information program is installed. Still no luck. Any
suggestions?

w/ SP2, the DCOM Server Process Launcher service MUST be running for
msinfo to work, else you'll get the aforementioned error message.

I tried the instructions listed and really thought that is was going to work
but i am still getting the same error. Thanks for the suggestion though. Any
others?

I am in the process of installing SP2 now and did not have it on my system
before so i dont think that is the problem. However since i am in the process
of downloading it now i would like to know how to find the DCOM server
process launcher and how to get it running if its not already. Thanks for the
help.

Figured it out... Creatives software package includes a system information
tool of its own and with it installed windows sys information could not work.
I unistalled and now it works fine. Thanks for all the suggestions.
What did you disable?
