System information cannot collect any information due to WMI.

Everytime I try and start system information, it just shows this error that
states that it cannot collect any information because the Windows Management
Instrumentation software is moved or missing. Does anyone know how I may be
able to fix this?

did you disable the new, SP2, service: DCOM Server Process Launcher?

you need to have it set to Automatic, then MSInfo will work again.

I didn't disable the DCOM server Process Launcher, in services it is set to
automatic but I still happen to have the same problem with system
information.

Any other ideas?

Followed the instructions in the microsfot article, and my dcom runs
automaticly (status: started). Still have the same problem with wmi not
starting - nothing to be seen in msinfo32.

Also: Nothing to be seen in explorer either. The only ones showing up are
Desktop, My Documents and My Computer - all with the folder icon. When trying
to open My Computer, it's all empty.

Any ideas?
