Unable to view contact information

Dear Outlook Gurus,

Please Help - I have viewed other postings on your community regarding
similar issues to this, and are getting nowhere fast!

When I create a new email and click the To: button (in Outlook 2003 running
under Windows XP), we don't see contacts. When I right-click the Contacts
folder and choose properties, the "Show this folder as an email address
bbook" option is grayed out.

I have tried the following suggestions in other postings:

(i) accessed Tools, Email Options command and added Outlook Address Book and
Personal Address Book (get message that it already exists). Exited Outlook
and returned - no change.
(ii) accessed Tools, Email Options and changed existing Address Books -
removed Outlook Address Book and then re-added. Exited Outlook and returned
- no change

Both times I still could not access the Contacts Properties option which is
greyed out. Any suggestions for anything else I could try??

Regards
JD2

Try a new mail profile, pointing it at your existing PST.

No Contacts visible in Outlook Address book

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you can see your Contact information in your Contacts folder but
are unable to see them when selecting Tools | Address Book... follow
the instructions below:

Open Outlook and choose Tools | Email Accounts...
Click on Add a new directory or address book, then Next >.
Select Additional Address Books then click Next >.
Choose Outlook Address Book from the list of additional address book
types, then click Next >.
You will be prompted to close Outlook and reopen it for the changes to
take effect.
Open Outlook and right click on the Contacts folder on your Outlook
Today shortcuts.
Choose Properties.
Click on the Outlook Address Book tab.
Check the Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book box.
Click OK and check you can see your contacts in the address book by
choosing Tools | Address Book...
