I have been using AceFTP 3(3.60.0) FTP download software with no problems.

I have a major problem I hope you may be able to help.

I am using Microsoft front page 2003 and when I open this application I get
"you are using the None authoring settings that may make some menu items
unavailable or disabled. Double-click here to enter or disable features"
This is after I said yes to make front page the default mail editor.

The upshot now is that I uploaded my index page onto the server to over
write the existing. The index file is not shown and my web site is down.
If I try to upload any file to the server, AceFTP 3 sends the file but it is
now present on the server!

How do I revert FrontPage back so my files and be FTP or what do I need to
do to resolve the issue?

Help me please

Is there a reason you want to use AceFTP and not FP2003 to Publish up to your server?

Thanks for the info I don't know of FP2003 therefore do not use it.
It is possible that my ISP have made some changes that has caused problems
access to my web site.

Uh..ok...you've got me totally confused. You said you're using FP2003 then you say your aren't?

If you're using FP2003 to design your website, and your host server is configured with FP extensions you should be using FP2003 to Publish your website up to the server. If you use a 3rd party FPT...like Ace you will 'break' the server extensions and not be able to take full advantage of FP's features - the most important one being the ability to open your site 'live' with FP.

If your server doesn't have the extensions installed then you HAVE to use FTP.

Dear Rob,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am using FP2003. I always used the FTP upload
prog therefore did not change once I used FP2003, I might have to reconsider
useing FP2003 to upload files.

Problem resolved. My isp (BTYahoo) had omitted some configuaration details
that allowed me to upload a file but then the file was not available 7
removed an existing file if already there!

Still BT did act and did get the problem resolved.

Thanks for your help

Kind regards

Martin Fuller

But he doesn't have to use a 3rd party FTP, he can use FP's FTP. ;)
