Unable to tweak registry

I have been trying to tweak my registry with some of Kelly's Reg tweaks.
When clicking on Merge everything seems to work OK. After a reboot I check
the registry and nothing has changed.
I am the only user and Administrator of this PC. Does anyone know what is
going on and how to fix it?

Running XP Home SP1 and all updates as detailed by WindowsUpdate site.

Hi Paul,

Which tweaks exactly? Are you verifying that the changes are made to the
registry before the reboot? BTW, not many need a reboot. And many of the
one's that do, crashing Explorer.exe does the same.

Run this edit (hope it sticks <s>) then try one of the tweaks again. If
this still doesn't work, send me the key in question (export/e-mail).
