Unable to turn off dial-up prompt

O

Outlook

My WinXP PC used to access the Internet via a dial-up
connection. It now does it over a network which in turn
gets its Internet connection via an ADSL modem.

Outlook 2003 will get new mail automatically once every
5 minutes, as per its settings. However, when I click
Send/Receive then the old dial-up prompt pops up.
This is in spite of me having changed the Internet Options
in the Control Panel to "Never dial a connection".

Any suggestions as to how I can prevent this from
happening?

Make sure your mail account is set to use a LAN connection here: Tools menu
Email accounts > View/Change existing accounts > Click Next > Highlight an
account > Click Change > Click More Settings > Connection tab
