Unable to turn Computer on in Normal Start Up

PLEASE HELP!!! I've had my Inspiron 6000 with WindowsXP for about four
months now. About a month ago, my computer started acting up. Starting in
Normal Mode, my computer would freeze up on the Windows icon page.

I was able to start it in Safe Mode without Networking. I've attempted to
use the Help and Support troubleshooter with as many different angles as I
could think of. I've had no luck.

After starting the computer in Safe Mode with Networking, it gets stuck on a
file ending in Mup.sys. I left my computer stuck on this page for about a
day and a half. When I came home from work, my computer was running in safe
mode with networking...........that's how I'm able to post this question.

Please let me know how I can resolve this. Thanks!!!

Maybe is infected by viruses and/or spywares, so you should scan your
computer in safe mode before going anywhere,

Online spyware scan:
www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan

Online Antivirus scan
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

then click Start > Run and type in MSCONFIG and when it's open click on
Startup tab, and Disable all, and if it works like that then check the items
that you think it doesn't effect and go one by one until you find the one
that is bothering your computer

Good Luck
