unable to turn computer off

L

luciano

every time i start the computer, which uses windows xp
operating system, home edition,
i get this message in front of the monitor:

f0: qttask.ex

there is no disk in the drive
insertdisk in drive\device\hard disk1\dr3

in order to get rid of that prompt, i have to press the
cancel button on that message 20 times...every time i
press cancel the message changes: hard disk2\dr3...
hardisk2\dr4.....hardisk2\dr1...and so on

if i do not delete that message 20 times i am not able to
turn the computer off... can any one help me get rid of
that message for good, or at least tell me where to go?

thanks

qttask is associated with Quick Time and is not required to be loaded at
startup.

Start, Run (type) MSCONFIG (enter)

Look in the Startup tab and uncheck the box next to qttask

Click on Apply and then reboot the PC. The message will no longer appear.
