unable to send emails

I have a similar problem as many of people who have posted questions: I have
windows Vista and my e-mail was working fine and then about a week ago I was
unable to send any emails but can receive them. I have not been able to find
a solution. I have tried the solution posted in these threads.

This is the error message I recieve: The connection to the server has
failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server:
'SMTP.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Sending through Comcast work better if you use the SMTP server named
smtp.comcast.net

And if you aren't actually connected to Comcast port 25 may not work:

I have the same problem. I just noticed that my emails have been stuck in
the outbox folder since 2/20/08. They will not send.
