unable to send attachments

We have one Office XP computer running OL 2002 that cannot send any emails with attachments. The send/recieve dialog box gets stuck at about 75% progress and slowly goes down as the number of pending processes climbs very high (after the weekend, there were over 6000 processes stacked up). Thanks in advanc
 
Are you using a pst-file or an Exchange mailbox? What is the exact error you
get?

Make sure the attachment isn't bigger than allowed by your admin or ISP.
SInce it is on one machine; tried recreating the mail profile already?
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...
