Unable to send large file attachments

I'm working in Outlook 2002, Windows XP, through Earthlink
and a Comcast cable modem. I'm unable to send or receive
any attachments 1 MB and over. Earthlink and Comcast both
have a 5 MB max, so I shouldn't be having this problem.
Any suggestions?

"Unable" doesn't tell us much...what happens when you attempt to send or
receive a message with a larger attachment? If you get an error message,
what is the exact text of the message?
