Unable to Scan Disk! HELP!

hello, i'm using windowns xp pro and i cant scan disk,
whenever i schedule my pc to scan disk, it says that
unable to oipen the volume, my disk type is
ntfs....before this i was able to regularly scan disk but
now i'm unable to do so...can u help me solve this, i
didnt download anything new except upgraded my zone alarm
firewall and anti-virus software, could this be the
problem?
 
I have exactly the same problem, I run Diskeeper which is an excellent program for maintaining your hard drive. However, Diskeeper will not run at the moment because CHKDSK has been scheduled. And because of the problem where having CHKDSK will not run..
 
Your problem is Zone Alarm.
Go back to an earlier version.
Well it worked for me.
