Unable to save policy

I am getting the message:

The Group Policy Snapin was unable to save your changes due to the following
error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.

It occurs when I click on apply on any admimistrative template's "Apply". I
am also getting different messages between saving user or machine policies.
On machine policies I get "Unable to save", when I select User policy I get
"Cannot find the path specified"

I have started using the Group policy management snapin on XP, for a Windows
2000 Server. If I try to open the group policy on the server directly I get
"this string will be truncated" several times.

What is the quickest way to fix this? I've tried deleting and recreating the
policy to no avail. I have all XP machines connected to Windows 2000 Servers.
Tnx in advance..

Florian,
Thank you for the response. I installed the patch on the Windows 2000
Server, but the symptoms still remain. The basic error is:

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process.

I am starting to see other posts with this error. I have downloaded OH.exe
to see if it is a locked file issue, I'll let you know.. Thanks again.
