Unable to resume

Hello!
I've some problem.
I have screensaver after 15 min. Monitor standby after 30 min. HDD off after
3 h.
Standby, hibernate = "NEVER"

After some hours I unable to wake PC. Monitor in Standby (yellow led), HDD
led not blinking. And it seems NO ANY HDD activity. Unable to go to normal
state using mouse or keyboard. Just one way to start working - restart or
turn off .

I had the same problem even with HDD off = NEVER.

Can someone help with this problem?

It's occurs not everyday, but sometimes. I have some scheduled tasks
(Backup) at 9PM. They was done succesfully(even with PC is in "monitor
standby" mode). But computer is freeze finally, when I come back next day
morning at work.
Maybe some problems with scheduled tasks ?
With best regards, Alexandr.

If you are using a desktop as opposed to a laptop there is really reason to
have ANY power saving features turned on! Just turn all the stufff on man.
Set everything to always on. Then, if you want to save a few pennies, cut
the monitor off manually when you are done. I continually hear about power
saving problems and the majority of the time what little power you save ain't
work the headache! Your stuff will work much better ... guaranteed.

Hi!
Can it be some hardware issue? For example, RAM, mainboard, HDD... ?
I ll try work with even screensaver turned off. But I must have guarantee
that NO ONE can look in my PC. Can I use "WinKey + L" for locking PC ? What
do You think ?

Alex.

If you use one of the screen savers that comes with XP and password protect
it on resume that should be plenty sufficient and not cause any problems.
Just disable all the power management junk.

I use "Starfield" XP screensaver. :)
I know that better to use simple screensavers.
You said about power management junk. Monitor standby included in this
termin or not ? Or power management junk is starting from "HDD Off" ? :)

Thank you very much for help!

Alexandr.

Starfield should be ok. As far as monitor goes that should be ok too. But,
if it was me I would turn that off as well. You can manually turn off your
monitor (power button) when done.
