Unable to remove typed URL in IE Browser

M

Mick

Can someone please tell me how to remove a typed URL from the IE browser
drop down box?

1. It is NOT in the registry.

2. I have deleted all history.

3. I have cleared all autocomplete forms.

4. I have deleted all Temp files. (Cookies included)

5. I have deleted what cache I could find.

6. I have used several different scripts designed to delete URL's

but one still remains.

Any other ideas?

Regards,

Mick.

I thought it was here:-

My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\TypedURLs

Deleting these works for me!

Shut down all IE windows, delete, then reopen

Sorry - Maybe I misunderstood you?

I thought you meant that they ALL were not in registry but on
rereading did you mean that only the ONE was not there?

They have all been erased from the registry, but one still remains in the
drop down box, no matter what I do....

I have since tried deleting some of the .dat files in IE (thought it may be
in there) as they are then re-created, but still no joy.

It's hiding somewhere but I can't find it. I have also used a suggestion
from someone's earlier response,

that it may be spyware, but no matter which program I use, it still won't
rip it out.

Mick

Have you seen this web page?:-

Towards the end of it it talks about deleting the index.dat files.

Interesting read - Thanks.
I'm trying the "Tracks Eraser Pro" mentioned
Thanks for your suggestions.
Mick.
You little ripper!
Thanks Stubbo!!
You put me on the right track.
"Tracks Eraser Pro" worked!
After nothing else did. This url MUST have been hiding in one of the .dat
files. (I guess)
Would be nice to kow where the little ba$tard was, just for interests sake.
Just goes to show that they don't all end up in the registry.
Thanks again.
