Deleting Addresses in drop down

How do i delete the addresses in the drop down list from the address bar. i
have win xp, ie 6.0. I have cleared history, setting history to 0, i have
deleted cookies, deleted files, made sure autocomplete turned off, restored
defaults, rebooted. All addresses still appear in drop down.

Hi pjd,
Go to Start, Settings. Taskbar and Start Menu Properties and Advanced.
You can then click on Clear and that will clear it for you..
 
I don't have settings when i click on start

This works, although I don't know why: right click on start button, choose
properties, start menu tab, customize, advanced tab, check Clear List at
bottom of page. This is a known bug that comes from WMP 9.
