Unable to receive incoming mail using Outlook 2003

I am not able to receive email using Outlook 2003. I have been using this
application and have not made any changes to my system. I have cable
"Charter Communication" and my email server is Earthlink.net. I have spoke
with Charter and they said it is an Earthlink issue. Called Earthlink and
they walked me through and states it is an application issue. The error
message I get is
"Task 'pop.earthlink.net (1) - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'"
Can any one assist?

Hi,

The issue you are experiencing may be caused by Norton Anti-Virus software. Please refer to the following Knowledge Base article to see if it helps resolve this issue:

OL: Error 0x800ccc0d or 0x800ccc0f When Receiving and Sending E-Mail
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;813514

If you have installed any anti-virus programs or firewalls, please temporarily disable them, and then check if the issue still appears.
