unable to read - file too big?

Two files, 66MB and 55MB, will not open on my or another
PC with 512MB RAM. Another person, with a 3GHz processor
& 3GB RAM, was able to open the files. He also has Office
XP. I'm wondering if it is the file size alone that is
causing the problem, or if the excel file size limits have
changed with Office XP. Anyone have any ideas? We
*really* don't want the customer to have to break these
files down, but we also don't have many 3G machines around
here.
