Unable to print

I am unable to print on a previously installed printer that had been working
fine for several months. Error message reads "Communication Unavailable".
Have tried every troubleshooting possiblilty. Power cord is plugged in,
tried new USB cord, driver is installed and updated, tried to do system
restore, nothing is working!...when I tried to uninstall and then reinstall
the printer, it will not let me reinstall, and states that the "specified
print monitor is unknown"...please help!
 
Hi ... Do you have more then one printer ? Or better yet have you installed
a different printer ?
