Unable to play AVI files

Jeff Racz

When I attempt to play an AVI file using Windows Media
Player, it gives me the following error:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is
either corrupt or the Player does not support the format
you are trying to play."

When I ask for more information, it tells me the error is

"0xC00D1199: Cannot play the file"

This all started after my kids loaded Kazaa and an
upgrade to Half-Life Counter Strike over the weekend.
Before they did that, I was able to play AVI files
without a problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
