Unable to open certain PDF attachments Outlook 2000

I receive a lot of PDF attachments, Outlook 2000 version 9.0.0.3821 will not
let me open some, the message given 'could not open one or more attachments'
quite a few that were previously viewed Ok are receiving the same message. It
will not let me save to disc & when I click open it goes to C:\WINDOWS\system
32?
Please help

do you have adobe acrobat reader installed? If not, install it, it is free
from Adobe web site. If it is installed you may need to associate a .pdf file
to use adobe.

I have Adobe 7. I have about 200 pdf files in my inbox, i used to be able to
open them all until recently.
