Opening a certain PDF attachment.

Everytime I try and open a certain PDF attachment ( 000001.pdf) it thinks
it's a Windows system file. I have no problem opening other PDFs. The
program I work with sends reports that are named 000001.pdf.

When I click on open - it takes me to the System 32 directory. If I click
on Save "Outlook cannot save the URL to a file. Path does not exist..."

How can I open these files in Outlook. I can send to a AOL account and open
them fine.

What happens if you start outlook in safe mode and try to open the
attachment? (Exit outlook and go to Start - Run - Outlook /safe)

I can't get it to start in Safe mode - is it Outlook/safe ? I tried
outlook.exe/safe, outlook/safe.exe, Outlook/safe. Says, "Windows cannot find
the file."

Yes! It does open in safe mode.

Then it's a plug in of some kind, I'd wager. I'd personally be looking at
any security based plug ins that might be blocking it, like an AV scanner
that includes in-Outook functionality (which is a waste. Outlook doesn't do
anything that an actual, real-time scanner would *not* catch.).

If you need help figuring out what plug in it might be, feel free to list
them.

How do I find a list of plug ins?

The only thing I'm showing is Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin.
Also, I am no longer able to open in Start mode.

Ok, second thing first:

What do you mean?

If I understand right, if you do the following:

Exit outlook.
Start - Run - outlook /safe

You are not able to open the pdf file anymore?

Correct. Now when I try and open the email in safe mode I get "Could not open
one or more attachments." I didn't change anything in Outlook, it just
stopped working.
