Unable to locate MSVCP70.dll

Can anyone help me. I had a Trojan detected by Norton which it could not
automatically wipe out. It suggested that I reinstall Windows XP which I
did and when I re booted Windows XP came up with hte original screen and all
my files had gone. However when I right clicked on my computer they are
there and I have now saved all my documents on a back up. The problem is
that all the programme files are not being seen and if I
try to create short cuts I get ALERTAST.EXE -Unable to locate component
MSVCP70.dll. I have tried reinstalling some programmes but get MMAIN.EXE
and the same message. Anyone got any ideas?

Downloaded the file MSVCP70.dll from
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp70

and copy it to the folders:
C:\WINDOWS\system32
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache

No work.

Use NSW uninstaller at
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/products/norton_systemworks/ver5.0/t
ools/
to remove NSW, reinstalled NIS 2004, worked.
