Unable to locate folders

I have recently had to downgrade to XP, which i have done on a new
hard drive. My old drive is set as the D: with all files / folders
exactly as Vista set them.

The problem I have is that now i am unable to find the Music /
Pictures. I know where they would be in XP - but not where Vista hid
them. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Vista stores your home folder which is the same as the my documents folder
in a folder called Users located in the root of the C:\ drive.

In your case try looking in D:\Users\ and then look inside the folder named
your user name you used on vista. The folders should be in there. You
might have a problem accessing the folders because of user rights.

thanks - unfortunately i tried that. There's no Pictures or Music
folders in any of those. is there a way to get around the user rights
issue? don't know if it affects anything, but i never used a password
in Vista.

Ok if it get this right you are looking for your old music and pictures
folder in win XP on your old drive that is set as a slave?
If so Try opening "my computer" > press "alt + T" > select "folder options"
select the "view" tab > select "show hidden folders and file" in the
window > and apply. XP stores your docs as standard in "c:\documents and
setting\**username**\ "
If that doesn't work then do as above but in the "view tab" > uncheck "hide
protected system files and apply > if this doesn't work change it back as
soon as pos for your own sake.
