unable to install xp home

XP Home full version. Partitioned and formated both my
drives. Tried installing from both CD drives and tried
boot disks (6 pack floppies) from M.S. into both Hard
drives. I get this:
The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is
corrupted or missing: Value 0 on the line in section
[SourceDiskFiles] with key "SP1.cab".
Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.
Yadi Yadi Dah......God I can't believe this.
So anyway, I paid 2 bills to buy this right? So I go to
contact online support. They (actually the web site)wants
m,e to put in a product I.D.#..... Guess where they send
you to find the product I.D.#???? LOL. Go to
Start/control panel/system/ and it will be there. Jesus.
Anyway...what the hell? Anybody know what's up? :)
Thanks, Bruce

Are you using a set of Windows XP setup floppy disks? If you are,
you're using the wrong set:

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310994

There are two different versions of setup disks for Windows XP.
If you have a Windows XP CD without Service Pack 1, you need to use
the first set listed. If you have a Windows XP CD that includes SP1,
then use the ones listed at the bottom of the page.
