Unable to install on Windows XP non compatible partition

Guest

Hi,

I have 2 partitions on my hard drive. I deleted one of the partitions and
plan to install windows xp on the deleted partition. However it gave me this
error message saying, this disk does not contain a Windows XP-compatible
partition. However I do not want to delete the other partition as I have
important files on that drive.

The 2nd partition on the drive was made using Norton Partition Magic.

I wasnt able to continue installing because windows cannot create a new
partition on the drive. Pls help.

Thank you.

Try deleting the partition and allow setup to create and format the empty
space.
You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.

try using its HDD diagnostic tools and its HDD management utility... test the incompatibility; know what it is. Hopeful.
