Unable to install Mcafee anti virus

I am able to install mcafee firewall, spam killer, privacy service but not
the anti virus. When i run the .exe it says copying files 100% then thats all
it becomes to the normal desktop, instead of going to the installation
process. Is this a problem due to the os because i tried using different
versions of mcafee anti virus but same result, whereas i am able to install
norton. I am using a windows xp sp2
