Unable to install IE6 on XP Pro, failed Logo Testing?

Barry

Hi:
My laptop came with XP Pro installed, and I had a problem
with IE6, causing it to barf on startup & send error
reports to Microsoft. After some pain, I was able to allow
a reinstall of IE6, but now when I try installing IE6, I
get the error message that IE6 has not passed Windows Logo
Testing and will not continue. I can't believe this is a
new problem, since both XP & IE6 have been out so long, but
after checking Microsoft's knowledgebase, I only found the
message that "Microsoft acknowledges there is a problem".
Can anyone help?
thanks,
Barry

Try this: Go to Control panel, open Internet Options, click the Advanced
tab, click to REMOVE the check to the left of: Enable third-party browser
extensions, then click the Apply and OK buttons, then reboot. That has
fixed the IE6 send error message and has allowed IE6 to open and run on many
of my clients' systems.
