unable to insert wma file into powerpoint 2002

I have a ppt slideshow that I made several months ago that plays a .wma file
throughout. I tested it and played it and gave it to some family members -
it worked fine everytime.

I kept the original wma and ppt file on my computer and made no further
changes to it. However, I have tried to run the show again recently, and now
the music never plays. The only thing I can think of that's different is
that my Windows Media Player upgraded to version 10. I don't remember what I
had before.

Now, I've tried re-adding the .wma, but powerpoint doesn't recognize it at
all. It won't let me add it and it won't play the original link. Is there
something about the new WMP that has changed the way .wmas are recognized?

Yes, it may have. The solution is to load the file in Widows Media Player
and save it under the new format.
