Unable to group objects

Hi,

Powerpoint 2000 is unable to group objects, or ungroups
objects that were grouped within PowerPoint 2000 on
another PC. I'm running Windows 2000 SP2.

It could be possible that the objects you are trying to group or ungroup are
part of the slide master?

Also, you might have nested groups - in that case, try ungrouping again.

Are you certain you haven't selected a group of objects that includes a
placeholder?
PowerPoint won't allow you to include those in groups.

The gouping works perfectly on amy desktop PC, it is on a
portable that grouping does not work. Objects that are
grouped in a document on the desktop PC are automatically
ungrouped if this document is opened on the portable PC.
Both computers have the same software installed.

That's certainly weird - I would first run 'Detect and Repair' from the Help
menu. Are you seeing any other incompatibilities as well or is this the only
one?
