Animation doesn't display after Ungroup/Group/redefinition/reorder

I have a complex diagram with lots of boxes, lines and text.
I grouped the objects I wanted to animate, and defined custom animation on
the groups.

I discovered I had forgotten to include some objects in one of the groups.
I Ungrouped, included the new objects, Grouped, redefined the animation, and
reordered the recreated group.
But when I run the slide show, the recreated group acts as if there is no
animation on it?

Doesn't Ungroup/Group again work with animation?
Do I have to Ungroup all the way back to the erroneous group, and restart
from there?
Or should I have used Regroup instead of Ungroup/Group? (Exactly what does
Regroup do - I can't find anything specific on it in the Help info?)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ungrouping removes animation. You have to reapply it.

I am trying to do that. The problem is that the re-applied (and re-ordered)
animation doesn't display - the recreated group acts as if it has no applied
animation.

Btw, thanks for great links!

Hey Kai,
I am looking for precisely such a scenario to test some new features in the
upcoming Animation Carbon version 2.0. Would you be interested in testing
this out?

No, I'm defnitely selecting the whole group when redefining the animation.

Anyway, I have to get this show on the road.
I will try redefining the slide by gradually
- pasting in objects from a copy
- grouping them
- adding animation to each group when it's correct
- hoping that I get it right the first time(!)

(But it seems clunky to not be allowed to redefine groups without the whole
animation scheme going haywire...)

Anyway, thanks for your time!

Hi Shyam,

Sorry, I don't have the time to do that. But I will look into the product
some time.

I will try redefining the whole slide (with animation) from a copy - hoping
I get it right this time (and don't need to redefine anything in the future!).

Thanks,
Kai
