Unable to find the "Run" option

When I went to make a backup copy of the registry, before
attempting any edits to fix my previous problem, I
discovered there is no longer displayed a "Run" option,
when I hit the "Start" button on XP Home, of my E-Machine.

I am sure it used to be there as remembering I once used
the Run option to do a "MSCONFIG" setup.

I removed several icons in the quick icon list that
displays when the "Start" button is clicked, but "Run"
still did not appear.

There must be some way to make it come back. Any suggestions?

I use ME. use start button, Settings, taskbar and Start menu, choose the
advanced tab. there is a list of checkboxes. Run is among the checkboxes.

in win XP: start menu, control panel, taskbar and start
menu, start menu, customize, advanced, check 'run
command'.
