Unable to establish dsl connection after latest XP updates

Yesterday I did installed the latest patches on my Windows
XP home edition computer. The computer requested a reboot
and I complied. Now I am unable to reestablish my DSL
connection, I get an error 676.. Phone Line Busy! My ISP
is SBC Yahoo, and I worked with them for two hours only to
find out all their equipment is working fine. I made no
changes to my computer. Has anyone seen this problem or
have any suggestions.

can you ping a public ip? posting ipconfig /all here may help.
