Unable to edit/delete recurring appointments

I don't know if anyone can help me, but I would really be
grateful. I use Outlook '97 for personal use. I'm a stay-
at-home mom and I use it to keep track of daily tasks and
also appointments, the kids' activities, etc. My problem
is that I am unable to edit or delete any recurring
appointments that I have set up which are no longer
valid. When I attempt to open the item, I get an error
message that says "Can't open item. Object could not be
found." I tried going back to the original appointment to
see if I needed to edit there, but I get the same
message. Any suggestions? Please send them to my e-
mail. Thanks!
