Unable to download security update

Help ! I purchased my pc from a private party, new.Tried
to update secur. from the worm, can't, Product key seems
to not have OEM. What do I do have no valid product key.

If you are getting the following error message when attempting to update to SP1:

Error Message: The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326904&Product=winxp

You'll have to purchase a new "Full Version" of Windows XP Professional
and perform a "Repair Install" using the new Windows XP Pro CD and Product Key
that comes with it. (You cannot simply change the Product Key)

There are programs that will find the product key of any
installation on your computer. Check with some tech
forums for these, or do a Google search. I'm not sure if
www.xteq.com does or not, but just look.

I have also tried to download the KB835732 security

update but all I get is a "failed" and try again
response. It does not give me any other options to get
this update.
