Unable to delete/sync deleted email from AOL

I am using outlook 2007. My problem: when I delete an email in outlook it
does not delete it from my mailbox in aol. Yes, I do run "Purge in all
accounts" after deleting my emails.

Help

So you are making an IMAP connection to your AOL account or do you connect
via POP3?
