Unable to delete emails from Outlook

I am running Outlook 2000 in Windows XP. I am unable to delete messages from
ANY folder in Outlook. I am getting an error message that says "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists,
restart Outlook." I have restarted Outlook and the computer...thus far, no
luck.

Any ideas?

The same is happening to me, except mine just tells me that Outlook is
offline. I can't seem to get it online even though the server connection to
my email server is working fine! Please let me know if you get an answer.

This same problem occurred with a client I was working with. They use
Exchange Server with Personal Folders with Microsoft Outlook 2000. We
recreated the Outlook profile and added the same PST file to that profile and
it fixed the problem.

So just go into Mail in Control Panel, click on Show Profiles then Add a new
profile from scratch with your current settings and that should fix it.
