Unable to delete e-mails from inbox

I have e-mail messages piling up in my inbox and am
unable to delete them. When I highlight them and choose
delete, it does nothing. When I try to move the item to
my deleted folder, it says "the selected message could
not be moved--an error has occurred." This is on our
DELL computer--only on my side. My wife does not have
this problem on her side. DELL has been unable to help
me.
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?

1) Try creating a new profile (Control Panel's Mail applet) or
2) Create a new PST, make it the default delivery location and move to it
everything in the old PST you with to keep. Close and delete the old PST
when done.
