E-mails Being Deleted When Moving From Archive to Inbox

I had a user this morning that moved a folder (containing two sub-folders) that was in her Archive folders to her .ost inbox and while the folder structure was retained, the E-mails within them were gone. They don't appear to be in the deleted items either.

Any idea where those E-mails would have gone or, if not, WHY they would disappear from the folders upon being moved?
