Unable to connect to Windows Updates

When I try to connect on the Microsoft website to check
for windows updates, nothing happens. I get on the site,
click check for updates, and then nothing. My system
doesn't freeze up, just never any change in the 0%.
I have waited as long as 30 min, and nothing. Any Ideas
on what is causing this?

Hi,

This is the short version of steps to troubleshoot access problems:

Disable any/all of the following installed on your system:

- firewall (even the native one)
- antivirus software
- popup stopper
- download manager

Go to the Control Panel/Internet Options, click on "languages" and make sure
at least your default language is installed.

Check the Date & Time applet and make sure that the day/month, and
especially year are correct, if you are out of date by 90 days or more you
will not see any updates.

Add these sites to the list of trusted sites under Internet Options/security
in the Control Panel:

https://Windowsupdate.microsoft.com
https://V4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com
https://Download.Windowsupdate.com
https://a248.e.akamai.net

Then retry Windows Update. If this doesn't help, try more troubleshooters
